OUR MISSION
We pray . . .
. . . that the student may find Christ as his Savior and cultivate a relationship with Him through prayer and the study of the Bible, thereby becoming a committed ambassador for Christ in today’s world.
. . . that the student will be motivated to become a lifelong learner; applying research skills, critical thinking, and technological advances to his quest for knowledge and wisdom.
. . . that the student will, out of his love for Christ, develop a compassion for all humanity; recognize the Godly potential of those in his own environs, as well as the remote areas of the globe; showing concern, respect, and kindness to all.
. . . that the student will recognize God’s order of government and will assume his scriptural position in the traditional family, the school, and society.
. . . that the student will acquire a Biblical work ethic in his educational pursuits, cocurricular activities, and family responsibilities.
. . . that the student will be prepared to meet the challenges of continued education by mastering effective study habits, becoming an avid reader, securing a solid mathematical and scientific foundation, acquiring healthy social skills, maintaining wholesome recreational activities and physical well-being to the glory of God.

FACILITIES
This booklet is designed to introduce you to Family Christian Academy and to acquaint you with its basic goals, methods, facilities, programs, and standards. We appreciate your interest in FCA and hope the Academy can benefit your family. Since every question cannot be anticipated and covered in this booklet, please feel free to contact our office for further information.
Facilities at Family Christian Academy are second to none among Christian schools. These spacious, modern facilities, including classrooms and equipment, are valued at over $9 million.
A full-size gymnasium, weight room, dressing and shower facilities, and modern baseball field aid our coaches as they develop well-rounded physical education and competitive sports programs, which include basketball, volleyball, softball, and baseball.
Modern, spacious libraries provide students and teachers the quiet atmosphere to find additional materials, equipment, and books to aid them in their studies.
FCA science labs provide students and teachers with equipment and materials needed to validate in the laboratory what is being learned in the classroom.
The computer is a vital part of instruction at FCA. Computer literacy, computer science, and word processing are emphasized from Kindergarten through Grade 12.
The overall objective of Family Christian Academy is to motivate and equip your child to live a Christian life in a non-Christian world.
Our primary objective is the spiritual maturity of our students through a knowledge of God’s Word, trust in His guidance, infilling of His Spirit, and submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The home, church, and school all should work harmoniously toward the same goal: a young person who leaves the school as a mature, biblically-founded Christian, academically prepared to excel in continued education, a chosen profession, or ministry.
For learning to be effective, it must take place within an orderly, disciplined atmosphere . . . an atmosphere where teacher, fellow students, and facilities are respected. FCA is developing such an atmosphere — not regimented, but firm and tempered with love.
In a truly Christian school the principles of God’s Word permeate every area of school life. FCA offers a quality education resulting from (1) a biblically integrated curriculum, (2) Christian instructors concerned for young people, and (3) low teacher student ratio.
The focal point of FCA’s instructional emphasis is the teacher. Each faculty member is fully qualified to teach in his subject area.

CLASSROOMS
At the elementary level emphasis is placed on mathematics, language arts, and reading — the basic building blocks of education.
At the secondary level emphasis is placed on college or career preparation. Subjects include communication skills, mathematics, and the sciences within a well-rounded curriculum. Students are involved in a total academic program where they exceed state requirements for graduation and are fully prepared to accept the challenges of continued education. Courses necessary to prepare for entrance into colleges and universities are offered each year.
The trained guidance counselor at FCA works individually with the students to secure college admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.
Parents are welcome to visit Family Christian Academy and tour the facilities. Please call ahead, (225) 768-3026 or (225) 768-3027. Our staff will be glad to assist you.

PHYSICAL, SPIRITUAL, AND ACADEMIC MATURITY
A sound body is important to physical, spiritual, and academic maturation. Therefore, the administration has assembled a quality coaching staff, integrating Christian philosophy into our sports programs.
The student activity program consists of a variety of co-curricular activities. These enrich the academic curriculum, while at the same time foster togetherness and enjoyment.
Activity offerings vary from year to year, based on student interest. They range from performing groups and academic clubs to student government, publications, and leisure activities.
FCA choir and bands may minister in chapel programs, other Christian schools, and rest homes. The school also hosts performing groups on campus to help develop an appreciation of fine arts at all grade levels.
By interpreting the Bible in all disciplines, FCA aims to prepare students to face the world with an awareness of the relevance of Christ in every endeavor.
The FCA student is taught the importance of good character traits and moral values. We believe strong Christian leaders from Christian schools are the hope of turning our nation back to God.

ADMISSIONS
Family Christian Academy accepts students into K - 5 through Grade 12, in addition to preschool, ages infant to 4 years. Each student’s application is evaluated to determine his preparedness both spiritually and academically for the program FCA offers.
The student’s past academic, testing, and conduct records are reviewed. A personal interview then is conducted with the prospective student and his parents.
Since FCA is a Bible-centered school, one of the functions of the admissions process is to determine the compatibility of the family’s beliefs and practices with the school’s teachings and goals.
For further information contact the Admission Office at (225) 768-3026 or (225)768-3027.
