What we believe at the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries

The Scriptures inspired

We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, providing the foundation for faith, doctrine, and Christian living.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:15–17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21

The One True God

We believe there is one true and eternal God, Creator of all things, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three persons in one divine nature.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10–11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22

The Diety of Lord Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died as the sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father.
Scripture: Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31–35; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22; Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; Acts 1:9–11; Acts 2:33; Philippians 2:9–11; Hebrews 1:3

The Fall of Man

We believe humanity was created in God's image but, through sin, fell from fellowship with Him, bringing both physical and spiritual death to all people.
Scripture: Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6; Romans 5:12–19

The Salvation of Man

We believe salvation is God's gift of grace, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and received through repentance and faith. The Holy Spirit transforms believers, producing a life marked by righteousness and holiness.
Scripture: Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 8:16; Romans 10:13–15; Ephesians 2:8; Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:11–12; Titus 3:5–7

The Ordinances of the Church

We believe water baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper are ordinances established by Christ. Baptism publicly declares a believer's new life in Christ, while Communion remembers Christ's sacrifice and anticipates His return.
Scripture: Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47–48; Romans 6:4; 2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe every believer should seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit, a distinct experience that empowers Christians for holy living, effective ministry, and bold witness through the gifts of the Spirit.
Scripture: Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8; Acts 8:12–17; Acts 10:44–46; Acts 11:14–16; Acts 15:7–9; 1 Corinthians 12:1–31; John 7:37–39; Acts 2:42–43; Acts 4:8; Hebrews 12:28; Mark 16:20

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe the initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, distinct in purpose from the spiritual gift of tongues.
Scripture: Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4–10, 28

Sanctification

We believe sanctification is the ongoing work of God's Spirit, setting believers apart for holy living and enabling them to grow in Christlikeness through daily surrender and obedience.
Scripture: Romans 6:1–13; Romans 8:1–2, 13; Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 2:12–13; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 12:14; Hebrews 13:12; 1 Peter 1:5, 15–16

The Church and Its Mission

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, care for those in need, and build up believers through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Scripture: Matthew 28:19–20; Mark 16:15–20; Acts 1:8; Acts 4:29–31; 1 Corinthians 12–14; Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 2:22; Ephesians 4:11–16; Galatians 5:22–26; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 1:29; Hebrews 12:23; James 1:27

The Ministry

We believe God calls and equips men and women for ministry to lead the Church in worship, evangelism, discipleship, and compassionate service.
Scripture: Mark 16:15–20; John 4:23–24; Ephesians 4:11–16; Psalm 112:9; Galatians 2:10; Galatians 6:10; James 1:27

Divine Healing

We believe divine healing is provided through Christ's atoning work and remains available today through faith, prayer, and God's sovereign will.
Scripture: Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:16–17; James 5:14–16

The Blessed Hope

We believe Jesus Christ will return for His Church, raising believers who have died and gathering those who are alive to be with Him forever.
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52

The Millennial Reign of Christ

We believe Christ will return visibly to establish His thousand-year reign on earth, fulfill His promises to Israel, and bring lasting peace and righteousness.
Scripture: Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27, 30; Revelation 1:7; Revelation 19:11–14; Revelation 20:1–6; Ezekiel 37:21–22; Zephaniah 3:19–20; Romans 11:26–27; Isaiah 11:6–9; Psalm 72:3–8; Micah 4:3–4

Final Judgment

We believe every person will stand before God in final judgment. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life will enjoy eternal life, while those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God.
Scripture: Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43–48; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:8

The New Heavens and the New Earth

We believe God will establish a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells and His people will live with Him forever.
Scripture: 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21–22
