From Me to You: April 2025
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SBN!
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been fifteen years now since we started the SonLife Broadcasting Network. In that time, only the Lord knows how many have been saved, baptized with the Holy Spirit, healed, and delivered from bondages, but whatever the number is—and no doubt the Lord knows it exactly—we give Him all the praise and all the glory. Somebody said that I am now the longest running media minister in the history of American media, having started our first telecast in 1973. If that’s the case, then we give the Lord all of the credit for that as well, for what’s been accomplished regarding the work of God these past fifty-two years. Frances and I have never been ones to look back because in ministry the Lord is always moving forward to what’s ahead, which is far better. In other words, what the Lord is going to do will eclipse anything and everything that He has done in the past, as great as that was. At any rate, happy anniversary to SBN!
THE BIBLES
We just finished another Bible-thon where you helped us get Bibles to pastors and Christian workers, this time in Brazil, Kenya, and Ghana. And, I want to mention this because it’s something that happens quite often as it regards The Expositor’s Study Bible, and I’m referring to testimonies from those who receive them. One was from a brother who pastors a little church in a country hit hard by poverty. Every Sunday, this man gets up early and walks five miles to a place where he can, for a few minutes, read a Bible—he can’t take it with him; it belongs to somebody else. He carefully turns the pages, searching for Scriptures and, in some cases, copiesthem down, while asking the Lord to give him a message for his small congregation that day. We’ve heard from many pastors with similar stories who write to tell us how thankful they are toreceive a Bible of their own. Every time I hear from them, it always does something to me; I can’t get over it. I wish I had the words to fully express the gratitude in my heart for your help in making our Bible distribution efforts possible.
NEW TESTAMENTS—IN VIETNAMESE!
By the time you read this, we should have finished our first printing of the Vietnamese edition of The Expositor’s New Testament. Last summer, while discussing with Dr. Dan Dang the number of New Testaments to be printed, he said he was looking for 58,220 copies. When I asked him why that number, he said, “The Americans came to Vietnam and fight for my freedom, and 58,220 people put their life for my freedom. Freedom is not free.” That’s tremendous.Incidentally, the number of Vietnamese New Testaments we are printing is 100,000.
PRAY FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP
This last presidential election was, I think, a miracle from God. And yet, we must take advantage of what the Lord is doing. Satan made a push for this country and almost succeeded. Thank God there are enough praying people in this nation who were able to turn back the tides of darkness. And whenever the Lord allows such to happen, He is going to do something great. I believe it is just around the corner. And by that, I’m speaking of a harvest of souls such as this nation or the world has never seen before. In the meantime, every born-again child of God needs to lift upPresident Trump in prayer each and every day, as well as those in his administration.
JSBC UPDATE
Gabriel tells me that in February the college celebrated one more milestone regarding their march toward accreditation. They had a site visit from staff members of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS), and it seems that Gabriel and his team have done a great job in getting the school positioned to move forward toward candidate status. I’m not exactly sure of all the particulars, but I trust when Gabriel says that this was a big deal for the college, and that everything they are working toward is of great benefit to the students of JSBC.
CAMP MEETING 2025 IS HERE!
The dates are April 16-20, and it’s going to be a blockbuster! A man told me the other day, “Brother Swaggart, I watch every service from Family Worship Center by television, but being here in person, for the first time, there is no comparison.” In other words, as wonderful as camp meeting is over television, it’s twice as good in person! We think you will feel the same way. So, if it’s at all possible, come—there’s still a few days left to make plans. Camp Meeting 2025 isgoing to be, I think, the best yet, so do everything possible to be with us. You won’t regret it!
NANCY HARMON
Talking about camp meeting brings to mind the recent homegoing of Nancy Harmon. When I heard that Nancy had been called home to glory, I knew that this first lady of song who has blessed untold thousands, even millions, around the world, it was a great loss for this country and the world. Whenever that lady sat down to an organ or a piano and began to sing, the presence of God would fill the place. She was at Family Worship Center for two or three camp meetings, maybe more, and I can still see the thousands of people with hands upraised. The music world has lost a giant. She was a blessing to untold millions, and I’m not exaggerating. When we lost her, we lost a champion. But she did not allow one minute to go unused. Her singing was full of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. As I said in a video message played at her service, “Nancy, to be sure, we will miss you. Thank you for the nights that you gave Family Worship Center, I appreciate that. Thank you for walking close to God as you did. We’ll miss you so very, very much, we will miss you—but not for long.”
JESUS CHRIST MADE IT POSSIBLE
Jesus Christ was crucified in the midst of two thieves. The religious leaders of Israel wanted it that way, to make Him look as bad as possible, and yet a soul was saved out of it. The chief priests, scribes, and elders there mocked Him, saying, “He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God”(Matt. 27:41-44). The thieves on His right and left picked up on the mocking, taunting insults of the religious leaders and “cast the same in his teeth.” But then something happened that caused one of those thieves to change. As the one malefactor kept on with the insults, the other rebukedhim, saying, “Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.” When Jesus said from the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do,” perhaps that’s what moved the thief’s heart, causing him to say, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” What changed that thief? One minute he’s cursing the Lord, and in what seems to be his next breath, he says, in essence, “I believe that You have a kingdom, and I want to be in it—remember me.” That’s the cry of humanity—remember me. Condemned and dying, the kingdom must have looked far off. But Jesus said to him, “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” We always get far more from the Lord than what we ask Him for.
Jesus Christ has made it possible for you and for me to go to heaven. He did that by going to the cross, giving Himself as a perfect sacrifice that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. He has made a way, at great price, that we might make heaven our eternal home. Praise God.
In the Master’s service, yours,
Jimmy Swaggart
